Uber’s best news for customers: the latest restrictions, lifted

Good news is coming from Uber. Following the lifting of the restrictions introduced due to the pandemic, Uber drivers and passengers are no longer required to wear a mask.

Uber emailed customers of the ridesharing application and announced that it had recently taken the same decision for Romania, after the country went out of alert. Of course, wearing a mask remains a recommendation that passengers and drivers may or may not take into account. Uber has now announced that it is renouncing the condition of wearing the mask in the United States, a condition imposed so far on both drivers and passengers in the United States. This happened immediately after a court illegally declared the federal warrant requiring the wearing of a mask in the means of transport.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I also received an email from Uber announcing that the mask is no longer mandatory.

“The face mask is no longer mandatory when ordering a trip. On March 9, the alert period ended. In this case, all restrictions on Covid-19 have been lifted. You no longer need to wear a face mask, but we still encourage you to do what makes you feel safe. Starting today, if you have to travel somewhere with the Uber app, you don’t have to wear a mask unless it makes you feel safe. The same principle applies to the partner driver who takes you to your destination ”.

Uber is reinventing itself: it helps you travel by train, bus, plane

Uber intends to add new features to the app, including booking adjacent trips such as flights, trains and more.

This will be the case in the first instance in the UK and will happen this year. The upgrade is part of the company’s intention to expand its business. The new service is designed to provide a “perfect experience” so that you can book your flight, train, bus and Uber car on the same app.

To make this possible, the company will combine its software with that of airlines, bus operators, but also with that of long-distance railway companies.
