The Last of Us multiplayer game still needs some time before it is shown, says Naughty Dog – That’s Gaming

Naughty Dog has been talking about its standalone multiplayer game The Last of Us for a while now, but until now we’ve only seen a few concept images of it. The developer said earlier this year that more details about the title would be shared later in 2023, and more and more people assumed the game would be officially revealed at the recent PlayStation Showcase. That this did not happen surprised many.

In response, Naughty Dog shared a message on Twitter to update fans on the game’s development, stating that the project needs “more time” before it can be revealed.

“We know many of you are looking forward to learning more about our The Last of Us multiplayer game,” the studio wrote. “We are incredibly proud of the work our team has done so far, but as development has progressed, we have realized that the best thing for the game is to give it more time.”

Naughty Dog says it is still working on multiplayer projects, as well as “other games,” including “a brand new single player experience” – which was confirmed last year as Neil Druckmann’s next project. According to the studio, details about these projects will be shared “soon.”

“Our team will continue to work on the project, as well as our other games in development, including a brand new single player experience,” the developer writes. “We look forward to sharing more soon.”

Recent reports have claimed that a number of as-yet-unannounced first-party PlayStation Studio titles are ready to be shown, but for some reason they were held back at the recent PlayStation Showcase.
