Monster Hunter Wilds won’t get any new details for now – That’s Gaming

Capcom announced Monster Hunter Wilds in December at The Game Awards, and gave the action RPG a launch date of 2025 – meaning, of course, that it may not quite be time for new details about the game to start surfacing. Nevertheless, many had hoped Capcom would talk about the next Monster Hunter installment as part of the series’ upcoming 20th anniversary celebrations – although the company has confirmed that this will not be the case.

On Twitter recently, Capcom announced that it will livestream the Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Special Program later this month, on March 12, and immediately after in a follow-up tweet, it immediately put an end to hopes for new information about Monster Hunter Wilds, saying: “This special program will not include any new game announcements or news about Monster Hunter Wilds.”

Well, there you have it. Fans can at least keep their expectations in check now, if nothing else. At the time of the game’s announcement, Capcom stated that more details would be revealed in the summer of 2024, so we have a bit of a wait ahead of us.

Monster Hunter Wilds is coming out sometime next year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with leaks claiming it will also come to the rumored Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom also recently announced a remaster of the original Monster Hunter Stories, which will launch this summer for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC.
