Netflix is ​​now using its collection of games for mobile phone users to support a noble cause. Specifically, the streaming service has launched three games for Android and iOS, under the collective title “This Is A True Story”, in other words, a game designed to raise awareness about the lack of drinking water in the world.

The collaboration between Frosty Pop and Charity: Water has resulted in an educational game that challenges you to travel miles and miles through sub-Saharan Africa to find water, while facing poachers, storms and other dangers.

It can be said that this game is an alarm signal (one more, if need be) on a situation that, day by day, is getting worse: 771 million people do not have access to clean water at the time of face. The game is meant to make users aware of these issues and, as far as possible, in the future, to make them stop wasting water – this precious and indispensable natural resource for life.

Netflix is ​​taking small, slow steps toward the gaming world

The other games are, to be sure, less exciting, but they might be worth a try. Pik Pok has revealed both “Into the Dead 2: Unleashed”, a sequel to the RPG hybrid, and “Shatter Remastered”, a modern version of the brick-breaker / shoot-em-up crossover for PS3.

All three games are available for Android and iOS users who have a valid Netflix account, starting March 22nd.

Obviously, “This Is A True Story” may seem like a boring game, but beyond that, it’s one of the few that explores a real problem on our planet and might not hurt to play it – at least from curiosity.
