The Romanian manufacturer continues to make waves in 2022.
The Dacia car factory, from Mioveni, Argeș, produced the car with the number 7 million
Automobiles Dacia has produced seven million cars since the factory opened in 1968. The anniversary car was a Duster Extrem, the limited edition launched by the brand this year. The Gray Urban car was equipped with a 150 hp TCe engine and EDC automatic transmission, being bought by a Romanian customer.
The Dacia plant in Mioveni has produced six different generations of cars in its almost 54 years of existence, starting with the famous Dacia 1100 and up to the new Jogger, which went into production at the beginning of this year.
The 1 millionth car was manufactured in 1985 after 17 years, and the 2 millionth was produced in 1998 after 13 years. In 2014, in the midst of the Renault era, the 5 millionth car was already manufactured.
The Duster model, which was launched in 2010 and is now in its second generation, is the most factory-produced model, surpassing the threshold of two million assembled units.
Dacia currently exports over 85% of its production from Mioveni, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Dacia had an excellent year
Dacia managed to climb to the third position of sales in Europe, in the segment of private customers, especially thanks to the Sandero model. It registered 226,000 units sold, maintaining its position as the best-selling model in the retail segment.
The market share of the Dacia brand in this segment reached 6.2%. At the same time, the Duster SUV was also at the top of the sales rankings, with a volume of 186,000 units, also maintaining its leading position in the SUV segment, for private customers.
“Dacia is currently a real growth engine for the Renault Group. 60% of DACIA vehicle buyers come from outside the Group, while 75% of DACIA owners remain loyal to the brand when they buy a new car instead of the old one “, says Denis Le Vot, General Manager of Dacia & LADA brands.
