James Cameron has announced that he will not be making a project about the OceanGate fiasco, in which five people lost their lives when the submarine imploded.
Cameron has been linked to the submarine since it was first reported that the OceanGate ship went missing. The connection is loose, but because the submarine explored the wreck of the Titanic, and Cameron himself has done so several times, there were a few who thought he might be interested in making a film about the OceanGate incident.
However, he said the following on Twitter: “I don’t usually respond to offensive rumors in the media, but I have to now. I am NOT in talks about an OceanGate movie, and I never will be.”
Well, that just about clears it up. We can’t imagine the OceanGate movie would be worth making anyway, since the story seems pretty obvious. What do you think?
