The Last of Us’ trailer puts Joel and Ellie’s relationship front and center: when can you catch the show on HBO Max

If the wait to watch HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us wasn’t already long enough, the streaming network has released a new trailer for the upcoming series ahead of its January 15 release date.

At nearly two and a half minutes long, the clip offers the best look yet at the production. The creators of the adaptation weren’t afraid to bring something new to the franchise.

The first official trailer for The Last of Us movie adaptation was recently released, and that’s very good news indeed. The clip, which lasts just over two minutes, includes some of the most memorable moments from the history-making game from 2013 to the present day. Incidentally, it should be noted that the title got a full remake for PS5 recently.

The Last of Us is coming to HBO Max on January 15, 2023

In the clip you can see a pretty bombastic opening sequence, but you can also hear the unmistakable sound of a clicker. It looks like the upcoming movie series will also draw script from the Left Behind expansion, which might make some people happy.

If you’re not familiar with The Last of Us, the trailer serves as a decent introduction to the story of the first game. At the center of the narrative are Joel and Ellie, played by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the upcoming HBO series. Joel must escort Ellie to a post-apocalyptic version of the US, hoping she can be the key to protecting what’s left of the world’s population from a fungal infection that turns its victims into aggressive, zombie-like creatures known as the Infected.
