The European Union has blamed Russia on Saturday for the missile attack that killed fifty people at the train station in the Ukrainian town of Kramatorsk, an incident that it has described as a war crime.

“It was a brutal and indiscriminate shelling of innocent civilians, including many children, who were fleeing in fear of another Russian attack on their homes and country,” said an EU spokesman.

“Those responsible for this war crime must be held accountable. There must be no impunity for war crimes. The EU supports measures to ensure accountability for violations of human rights and international humanitarian law,” added the spokesman.

The United States also blames Russian forces for the train station attack. According to Ukrainian officials, more than 50 people were killed and more than 100 wounded.
