REVIEW The Silencing – the Netflix movie starring “Jamie from Game of Thrones” that you probably want to see if you like thrillers

If you’ve been watching Game of Thrones and quite liked the actor who played the enigmatic Jamie, Netflix has a new movie for you to watch.

Obviously, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is no longer starring in a fictional movie this time, but one thrown into another sphere a little closer to possible reality.

The Silencing, the thriller that promises to keep you on Netflix until it’s over

The name of the movie I’m talking about is The Silencing, and as I’ve already announced, you can watch it on Netflix right now.

Don’t expect to see Jamie here, since Nikolaj Coster-Waldau seems to be able to play even roles diametrically opposed to the one that made him famous.

Rayburn is an alcoholic, depressed and trying as hard as he can to find out what happened to his teenage daughter who, for some unknown reason, is nowhere to be found.

It all takes place in a somewhat bleak small town in the United States where people seem to survive more than live.

I’m not going to lie, you have a real chance that, at some point, you’ll figure out who the serial killer is (because yes, that’s who the whole plot actually revolves around).

Even so, Slowburn manages to get that Twin Peaks-type horror into your soul, which obviously can’t be a bad thing, since that’s the main reason you choose to watch such films.

In The Silencing you can also see her play Annabelle Wallis as Sheriff Gustafson. If you think you’ve seen it before but can’t remember exactly where, I’ll help you out right away.

Perhaps Wallis’ most important role was on Peaky Blinders, where she played Tommy’s wife, Grace Shelby.

Here’s a little trailer to whet your appetite:
