As we reported a few days ago, Polestar has now officially pulled the curtain on its next electric car. Known as the Polestar 4, this car is an SUV designed to be positioned between the Polestar 2 and 3 in terms of price and size, and will be the fastest Polestar to date.
The car will have a maximum power output of 544 hp, allowing it to reach 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, in addition to two variants, a single and a twin-engine version. It will be equipped with a 102 kWh battery designed to provide a range of 560 km.
In terms of technology inside, the Polestar 4’s infotainment suite is powered by Android’s Automotive OS and the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. Google Assistant, Maps and Play are all supported as well, as is a Harmon Kardon audio suite with 12 speakers around the car. Apple CarPlay will also be available.
One of the strangest parts of the car, however, is the fact that it doesn’t actually have a rear window, as Polestar instead has a “new kind of immersive rear-seat experience” has introduced in which the glass roof extends beyond the heads of the rear occupants.
As for when the Polestar 4 will debut, the car is scheduled to first launch in China in November 2023, with a full launch scheduled for early 2024.
