New footage from Andor online: when you can finally see the Star Wars series

The first TV spot for Andor reveals new footage of the Star Wars hero as the series premieres on Disney+ soon.

Serving as a prequel to Rogue One, the upcoming series is set five years before the original events and tells the story of thief-turned-Rebel spy Cassian Andor in the formative years of the Alliance. Diego Luna will star as the lead in the Andor cast, along with several new and returning characters.

In addition to Luna, we may also see Genevieve O’Reilly. She will play Mon Mothma, alongside Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, both reprising their roles from Rogue One.

Newcomers include Thor’s Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw. Robert Emms and David Hayman have also been cast in as yet undisclosed supporting roles.

Announced by Lucasfilm as early as 2018, Stephen Schiff was originally hired as showrunner and eventually replaced by Tony Gilroy before filming began in 2020.

Fans saw the first footage of Andor earlier this year, and now, they’re being spoiled with some new ones.

A month before the series premiered, the first TV spot for Andor debuted during the MLB Home Run Derby. Shared on Twitter by @TheSWU, the 30-second teaser features some new footage from the upcoming Star Wars series.

Although the TV spot is mostly made up of footage from the Andor trailer debuted during Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim earlier this year, it includes some new footage of the show’s main character, Cassian Andor.

Andor will debut on Disney+ sometime later this summer.
