Raúl Fernández will look for the feat in Moto2 starting fifth

The Spanish rider Raúl Fernández (Kalex) will start from fifth position in the Moto2 race of the Comunitat Valenciana Grand Prix, the last round of the Motorcycle World Championship in which he will try to win the title against the opposition of the leader, the Australian Remy Gardner (Kalex), who will start eighth.

With a 23-point advantage at the head of the general standings after his victory in the Algarve, the ocean-going sailor has practically guaranteed himself to lift the trophy that accredits him as world champion. Only an accident or breakdown or finishing fifteenth or worse in the event that the Madrid native won would prevent him from tying the title.

Even so, the one from San Martín de la Vega, who aspires this Sunday to become the ‘rookie’ with the most victories in the history of Moto2, will seek to rush his title options from the second row, after a Q2 in which he went to the ground with three minutes to go and in which he could no longer improve his time.

The Italian Simone Corsi (MV Agusta) took a surprising pole this Saturday ahead of his compatriot Celestino Vietti (Kalex) and the Spanish Augusto Fernández (Kalex), second and third respectively.

In addition, Arón Canet (Boscoscuro) will start the last round of the year from seventh place at the start, Jorge Navarro (Boscoscuro) will start ninth, Xavi Vierge (Kalex) will do so twelfth and Marcos Ramírez (Kalex), sixteenth.

Among those who failed to advance to Q2, Héctor Garzó (Kalex) will start nineteenth, Fermín Aldeguer (Boscoscuro) twenty-first and Albert Arenas (Boscoscuro), twenty-sixth.
