Although, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is just as expensive as the rival Galaxy S23 Ultra, the manufacturer believes there’s room for one more model, the 13 Ultra. It remains to be seen whether it will be even more expensive, or the manufacturer once prized for its highly competitive performance-to-price ratio will make room for it with substantial price cuts applied to already launched models.
The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro were released for the Chinese market as early as December, with the global launch coming only towards the end of February. The good news is that the approach isn’t being kept for the Ultra model, with the new top-end trim set to appear in Chinese and European store offerings no later than April 17. To be fair, the manufacturer is only confirming the existence of the new Ultra, not the timing of its launch in stores.
Possible Xiaomi 13 Ultra specs:
- 6.7″ QHD+ display, AMOLED LTPO, 120Hz
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset
- Memory 12GB/16GB RAM
- Storage 256/512GB
- Rear cameras: 50MP main + 50MP ultrawide + 50MP zoom + 50MP telephoto
- Selfie camera: 32MP
- OS Android 13, with MIUI 14
- Leica colour certification
- 4,900mAh battery with 90W fast charging via USB-C and 50W wireless
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is expected to come with a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, helped with 12/16GB RAM and 256/512GB non-expandable internal storage respectively.
Unfortunately, judging by the price of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which is higher or equal to the rival S23 Ultra, it’s hard to believe that the 13 Ultra alternative will shape up to be a better choice, with the Chinese manufacturer already pushing the boundaries of European consumers in terms of brand loyalty.
