Hopes for the launch of a new physical keyboard phone under the BlackBerry brand have recently been shattered by the Canadian company itself. Not only did she sell all the patents she still had in the field, but she also revoked the license of Onward Mobility, which worked on such a phone, equipped for the first time with 5G. However, it seems that Unihertz, a company that has previously launched phones with physical keyboards, will try to continue what BlackBerry started with the KeyONE and Key2 models, with a new model, similar in construction and design: Titan Slim.
Titan Slim could be the first 5G QWERTY phone
Unihertz has revealed that he is working on a new phone with a physical keyboard. It’s called TITAN Slim and will be released via Kickstarter. This is not the first time the company has resorted to this strategy, and previous models have enjoyed moderate success with this method of community funding.
The new model will be smaller than other phones with a physical keyboard. Named “Slim”, it will be built to be used with one hand, both for pressing physical buttons and for using the touch screen. Fans have already estimated that the screen could have a diagonal of only 4.3 ”, so it will probably not be difficult to reach all corners with one finger.

Since the screen is in a “wide” format, not a square one, most applications should be displayed correctly on it, say Unihertz. It is also possible that this model will be equipped with a 5G chipset, which would make the Titan Slim the first phone with a QWERTY keyboard and high-speed connectivity.
Unfortunately, we don’t know when the Kickstarter project will start or what its price will be, but other models of the company have been launched as budget phones at low prices. The final models, which arrive in the store, are listed at higher prices than the pre-order ones.
