Ukraine claims to have killed more than 600 Russian servicemen in fighting over the past day

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have claimed Thursday to have killed more than 600 Russian servicemen in the framework of the fighting recorded in the last day, marked by the counteroffensive launched during the last days by the Ukrainian forces in the Kharkov, in the east of the country.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has said in a message on its account on the social network Facebook that during the last 24 hours 640 Russian servicemen have died and raised the total number of dead among the Russian ranks to 51,250, without Moscow having given an official balance of casualties.

It has also stressed that since the beginning of the conflict, unleashed on February 24 by the invasion order given by Russian President Vladimir Putin, 2,112 battle tanks, 1,226 artillery systems, 159 anti-aircraft defense systems and 305 self-propelled and armored multiple rocket launchers have been destroyed.

On the other hand, he has noted that 239 aircraft, 210 helicopters, 884 drones, 15 ships, 3,344 vehicles and fuel tanks have also been destroyed, while 214 cruise missiles have been shot down. “The Russian enemy suffered the heaviest losses over the past day in the direction of Donetsk,” he has stressed.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has further emphasized that “the enemy continues to focus its efforts on stabilizing full control over the territory of the Donetsk region, keeping the temporarily occupied districts in Kherson, part of Kharkov, Zaporiyia and Mikolaiv.”

Finally, he denounced that during the last 24 hours Russian forces have carried out ten missile attacks and 22 shellings in the country, before stressing that Ukrainian forces have executed more than 30 shellings against “strongholds and places of concentration of personnel and equipment of the enemy” in this same period.
