The Ukrainian authorities announced on Monday the opening of ten humanitarian corridors in various areas of the country to proceed with the evacuation of civilians in the face of the Russian Army’s military offensive, which began on February 24 by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kirilo Timoshenko, ‘number two’ of the Ukrainian presidential office, has detailed in his Telegram account that among the corridors there is one that will connect Berdyansk with Mariupol, which has been surrounded for days by Russian forces.

For her part, Ukraine’s deputy prime minister, Irina Vereshchuk, stressed that the authorities “will try once again to finally unblock the movement of a humanitarian convoy with food and medicine between Berdyansk and Mariupol,” according to the Ukrinform news portal. .

The Mariupol City Council denounced on Sunday that the bombings carried out by the Russian forces and the Donetsk militias, close to Moscow, have already caused the death of more than 2,100 residents. He also accused the Russian forces of having “completely” destroyed children’s hospitals and the city’s infrastructure, where 400,000 people live in dramatic conditions, according to various NGOs.
