True fans of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise have every reason to rejoice. The TV show “Freddy’s Nightmares” is now available for online streaming for the first time.
“Freddy’s Nightmares”, the official anthology series of the famous film concept, ran for two seasons, between 1988-1990. Just like the Cryptkeeper character in “Tales From the Crypt”, Freddy Krueger (played by the famous actor Robert Englund) plays the role of the host of this series, presenting each episode separately.
While almost every episode revolves around new stories and characters, which did not find their place in the movies “Nightmare on Elm Street”, the pilot episode was a prequel to the iconic horror film (cult), directed by Wes Craven.
The seven original films “Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Freddy vs. Jason ”has had numerous performances over the years, as technology has evolved from VHS to DVD and later to Blu-ray.
However, the same cannot be said of Freddy’s Nightmares. Despite the fact that Freddy gathered an impressive fan base, the TV show did not receive the recognition it probably deserved at the time. Admittedly, some episodes were released on VHS and others on DVD / Blu-ray, but it wasn’t enough. For this reason, fans had to resort to pirated variants in order to see both seasons, head to tail.
The two seasons of “Freddy’s Nightmares” will be available online on Screambox
Bloody Disgusting has included all 44 episodes on their streaming service, Screambox. Although the platform itself is free, given that “Freddy’s Nightmares” is in the category of premium content, fans of the franchise will have to pay $ 4.99 to see the series.
Despite the fact that the TV series did not receive very good reviews, which would explain why it did not officially have a book launch, fans have repeatedly asked for access to these episodes. Here, for the first time, their wish will be fulfilled, 34 years after its launch.
