Season four of YOU has an official premiere date on Netflix, other than previously announced.
Season 3 of YOU ended with a shocking death that prompted the character played by Penn Badgley to make drastic changes in his life and move away.
At the end of the third season, Joe arrives in Paris to search for Marienne (played by Tati Gabriel).
In a surprise announcement to fans, Netflix has confirmed that the fourth season of YOU, Part 1 will debut on Thursday, February 9.
Part 2 will be released a month later on March 9. Basically, we’re talking about a change from the previous release plan, which notes a February 10, 2023 release date.
What will happen in the new season of YOU
It looks like next season Joe will arrive in London and take on the identity of Professor Jonathan Moore who becomes obsessed, this time with Kate (played by Charlotte Richie). Alongside Kate, Marienne also returns.
The cast of season four will include Tilly Keeper, Amy-Leigh Hickman, Ed Speleers, Niccy Lin, Aidan Cheng, Stephen Hagan, Ben Wiggins, Eve Austin, Ozioma Whenu, Dario Coates, Sean Pertwee, Brad Alexander, Alison Pargeter, Adam James and Lukas Gage.
The character played by Penn Badgley not only tends to fall in love with a new girl every season, but also has a tendency to wreak havoc in the lives of acquaintances, being able to commit crimes with great ease.
Still, we have to admit that this story is long overdue, since for a couple of seasons now, the action seems a bit far-fetched.
It remains to be seen whether the new season will manage to grab a bit more attention, in the sense of having a slightly better plot.
Obviously YOU was supposed to be a miniseries, not a full-fledged series, but in the words of the American, “it is what it is”.
London’s calling.
