Valve has released a new update for its Steam store that this time focuses on improving search capabilities. As part of the update, players can now search for more than just game names, including tags, categories, developers, publishers and franchises.
Examples provided by Steam include searching directly for Star Wars or Final Fantasy instead of having to write individual game names. Players can also search for Bethesda, or across categories such as free to play and tags such as survival or zombies.
According to a post describing the update, the search function now also has better support to reduce typos users may make. The example provided in the post shows a search for “hgwart” successfully returning results for Hogwarts Legacy.
Valve has been working on improving Steam’s overall features for some time. Another recent update last month saw the Steam PC client receive a redesign of the in-game overlay, with many new features and further refinements to the client’s user experience.
