New galactic image looks too sci-fi to be real -.

Lately, the James Webb Space Telescope has been taking pictures of all sorts of exciting cosmic bodies, and the latest to join this stunning collection is an image of the M51 spiral galaxy, which frankly looks too sci-fi to be real.

The image highlights the colors found throughout the galaxy and shows the spiral formation distorting and almost coming across as an optical illusion as if staring down a galactic tunnel.

According to the European Space Agency, the description of the image is as follows: “A large spiral galaxy occupies the entirety of the image. The core is mostly bright white, but there are also swirling, detailed structures resembling water circling a drain. There is white and light blue light coming from stars and dust in the center of the core, but it is tightly confined to the nucleus. The rings feature colors of deep red and orange and mark filaments of dust around hollow black bubbles.”

Check out the image of the galaxy below and let us know what you think of the striking photo.
