Naughty Dog Co-President Says Can’t Wait to Show The Last of Us Multiplayer – That’s Gaming

Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, knows that fans “really want” The Last of Us Part 3 to come out, but until then, the studio is busy working on a standalone multiplayer title set in the same universe. It’s as “big as any of our single-player games” and even bigger in some other ways. While he gave no details on the story or gameplay, Druckmann confirmed that players will “hear a lot more about this later this year.”

During the Kinda Funny spoiler cast for HBO’s The Last of Us (obviously beware of spoilers), he confirmed that this is Naughty Dog’s “next big title.” It’s even more interesting for Druckmann because he is neither the primary writer nor director.

“What the team has put together is so cool. It’s very different from what I would do because it’s made by other people, but I find that exciting. I can see other people playing in this world, in a leadership role, and see how it comes together. I can’t wait to be able to show it.” Druckmann will serve more as producer while Uncharted and The Last of Us veterans Vinit Agarwal, Joseph Pettinati and Anthony Newman lead the team.

Naughty Dog has been working on the title for a “long time,” even before The Last of Us Part 2 was released. It is the studio’s “most ambitious” project to date and will further expand the world of the series. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
