The Dark Prince is available now – That’s Gaming

SQUARE ENIX® launched today DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince, the latest role-playing game in the DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS-series. DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince is now available worldwide, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch™, in stores and digitally through the Nintendo® eShop.

At DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince the player assumes the role of Psaro, a monster tamer who must recruit monsters to fight for him in the fantasy world of Nadiria, where rivers of bubbling lava, mysterious ancient ruins and towering cake buildings await him. In DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince you can fight, recruit and train more than 500 unique monsters, and enjoy online battles, changing seasons and a revamped synthesis system.

Once players have assembled a “dream team” for DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS, they can compete with it online against the teams of other monster tamers. In the process, for the first time in the series, players can participate in Quickfire Contests, massive competitions that use the data of 30 players to automatically battle. In addition, there are several other online combat modes, including Ranked Matches, Friend Matches and Multiplayer Tournaments, in which eight players compete against each other in a knockout format until one of them reaches the top.

The Digital Deluxe Edition of DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince contains the following bonus items:

• The Mole Hole (includes the “Gothic Vestment” costume): dive underground for a reunion with monster types you previously made friends with. You also get the chance to recruit monsters that are difficult to obtain via synthesis.
• Coach Joe’s Dungeon Gym (includes the “Cake-Maker’s Clobber” costume): Explore these randomly generated dungeons and battle legions of powerful monsters. Each dungeon has unique rules that force players to thoughtfully assemble their party. Players who defeat the final boss in the final room are rewarded with rare items that help players cultivate increasingly powerful allies.
• Treasure Trunks (including the “Monstrous Mail” costume): Each time you open one of these mysterious treasure chests, you will receive an exciting reward. However, you must always wait a while before you can reopen such a chest and get the next exciting reward on the list. Keep opening them to be guaranteed to get your hands on some valuable items!
