Marc Márquez: “There’s less left to start and enjoy”

“I’m looking forward to getting to the heat in Malaysia, because I hate the cold, so I can’t wait to go and get back to my routine as an athlete. I really want to get on top of MotoGP; just thinking about it right now makes me goosebumps. Luckily there’s less left to start and enjoy,” he wrote on his ‘Box Repsol’ blog.

Márquez, who published a photograph at the airport before going to Malaysia, assured that the Sepang tests will help him see how he is physically and, above all, see how his arm is compared to last year, marked by that return after his injury of humerus and several interventions. “It will also serve to see the work that HRC has done with the new bike and see where we are,” he predicted.

A good moment that comes after the last few months in which he could not train “properly”. “When doctor Sánchez gave me the go-ahead to get on a motorcycle in mid-January, I immediately intensified my training sessions to be able to get to the pre-season tests in the best possible way,” he said.

“It would be summed up in that it has been another difficult winter. At times I did not know when I would be able to compete again or if I could do it again when the diplopia injury recurs. It has been a really difficult few months, with double vision it is difficult to do normal life and I needed to be at home, quiet, so it was quite uncomfortable”, acknowledged the one from Cervera.

Still, having recovered from his double vision, he was glad to be back. “I am very grateful to the doctors and ‘physios’ who have treated me, and to all my family and team who have helped me in these difficult times. Together they have made it possible for me to arrive in good condition for the MotoGP preseason”, he celebrated. .
