The Huawei event, which will take place on April 28 in China, will not only include a foldable smartphone, as was originally announced. Huawei Mate Xs 2 will certainly be the main attraction, but the Chinese company has now confirmed that it will simultaneously launch a new smartwatch. The company’s watches are proving to be very successful, especially the models in the Watch GT series, and this week’s launch will bring a new model in this range: Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro.
Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro will be released very soon
Huawei Watch GT watches promise advanced functionality and long-lasting battery life, compared to competing models and even compared to Huawei Watch “non-GT” models. This is because it runs a more “lite” version of HarmonyOS, which was previously called LiteOS. This allows it to run on a lower-power processor that can still provide access to the most advanced fitness features, as well as the ability to install apps from the AppGallery store. The difference is that the applications for Huawei Watch 3 are more advanced in capabilities.
Previously, the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro model came with an improved processor and premium construction compared to the “standard” Huawei Watch GT 2. We expect the new Watch GT 3 Pro to come with similar improvements. The GT 2 model we tested earlier came with a steel case and glass screen protector. We expect a titanium case and sapphire glass screen protector. It is also possible that the new model will come with more advanced sports monitoring features.
The first “teasing” clip suggests underwater activities such as snorkeling or diving up to 30 meters deep. While the GT 3 models so far offer water resistance up to 5 ATMs, ie 50 meters deep, they do not offer monitoring of activities at such great depths. GT 3’s aquatic functions are limited to swimming in the pool or ocean.
