Guevara leads the entirely Spanish front row of Moto3

García Dols and Masià will start second and third

MADRID, 30 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Spanish rider Izan Guevara (GasGas) has been awarded pole position for the Moto3 race of the Spanish Grand Prix, the sixth round of the Motorcycle World Championship, and will command an entirely Spanish front row together with his teammate and leader of the championship, Sergio García Dols (GasGas), and Jaume Masià (KTM).

In this way, the one from Palma signs his second first position of the year -after that of Qatar, in which he finally had to start last due to suspension-. For the first time this year and in all categories, three Spanish riders will start from the front row.

In a day of favorable conditions at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit, Sergio García Dols took control of the session until his teammate, who was already the fastest on Friday, snatched the privileged position four minutes away to the end of the session.

The one from Burriana, angry after several riders wanted to take advantage of his slipstream, did not arrive in time to take the final lap, and nobody could beat Guevara’s 1:45.880. Masià, meanwhile, hurried the last moments to get up to third place.

As for the rest of the Spaniards, Xavi Artigas (CFMoto), who went through Q1, secured sixth starting position, while Carlos Tatay (CFMoto) will start tenth and Iván Ortolá (KTM), fifteenth. Among those who did not advance to Q2, Dani Holgado (KTM) will start nineteenth, Adrián Fernández (KTM) twenty-first, Gerard Riu Male (KTM) twenty-second, and Ana Carrasco (KTM), last.
