MADRID, 28 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Russia has warned again this Thursday of the possible consequences that the “provocations” of Western countries could bring when they “openly” encourage Ukraine to attack military targets on Russian territory with NATO weapons.
“The West is openly asking kyiv to attack Russia, even with weapons received from NATO countries,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zajarova protested, citing recent statements to that effect by the British deputy minister. of Defense, James Heappey.
Zakharova believes that these statements by Ukraine’s partners “show” that “the regime” of President Volodimir Zelenski “is not independent” and that it “completely depends” on “external agents” to make its decisions, as it shows, she said , that kyiv has already bombed border regions.
In this sense, Zajarova has warned both kyiv and the rest of “Western capitals” that they should “take seriously” the Russian Defense Ministry’s warnings “that more provocations to attack Russian targets will lead to a harsh response” on the part of of the Kremlin troops, reports the TASS agency.
This week, Britain’s deputy defense minister defended Ukraine’s “legitimate” right to attack military targets on Russian soil to cut off Moscow’s supplies and war-making capabilities.
“Ukraine must hit its opponents to attack their logistics lines, fuel supplies and weapons depots. This is part of the war,” insisted Heappey, who was answered shortly after by Russia.
“London’s direct provocation of the kyiv regime to carry out such actions, in the event of an attempt to implement them, would immediately lead to our proportional response,” the Russian Defense Ministry warned.
