Greece’s prime minister on Turkey’s threats: “They are alone in this game.”

The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyiriakos Mitsotakis, has assured this Tuesday that Turkey “is alone” in what he has considered as a “game” of provocations and aggressive attitudes regarding the situation in the Aegean Sea, where there has been a recent increase in tension.

“The other side can continue with its monotonous lies and threats, but it is alone in this game. They are not only acting against Greece, they also have the whole of Europe in front of them and NATO allies to argue with,” he has asserted before pointing out that Turkey “is isolating itself.”

“Instead of inflammatory statements, let them choose peaceful acts and the path of essential dialogue,” the Greek leader said before pointing out that Greece “remains confident in its position within the framework of international law, as well as in its Armed Forces and the support of the allies.”

For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan asserted that “terrorists are enjoying protection in practically all the countries of Europe, especially in Greece”.

“Armored vehicles on the islands do not make sense to us because our power is far above them, but we want to warn that this can be considered a covert occupation,” said Erdogan, who warned that the support of the United States and Europe “will not save them.”
