Black Desert Online Unveils Content Roadmap at Festa Event – That’s Gaming

Over the weekend, Korean developer and publisher Pearl Abyss announced Black Desert Online’s upcoming roadmap during the Black Desert FESTA event. The publisher revealed a new 600-player PvP, Maegu’s class Awakening, Boss Blitz update, the new horse Mythical Doom and more.

The event, organized in Suwon, South Korea, and attended by 400 adventurers, included special performances by musician Song So-hee and Pearl Abyss’ audio team inspired by Land of the Morning Light, Black Desert Online’s critically acclaimed expansion. All proceeds from participation will be used to purchase gifts for the Good Home Nursery children’s center in Anyang City, South Korea.

War of the Roses is a brand new conquest war on an unprecedented scale that goes beyond new rules and regions. Players can participate in a massive 300-vs-300 battle every two weeks, and it gives players a tactical map to devise strategies and wage real-time war with allies. Unlike Black Desert’s existing Node and Conquest wars, players do not need to build forts and other fortifications for battle, allowing them to focus on combat and strategy. Also, all adventurers can participate in the carnage with unlimited equipment, as there are no restrictions on equipment stats. More information about this exciting new PvP content will be revealed in the near future.

NEW Snake boss: IMOOGI

Get ready to take on Imoogi, the newest boss coming to the Black Shrine in Land of the Morning Light. New and returning players can jump into the region starting today and take on this fearsome snake and other bosses inspired by Korean folklore. Unlike other Land of the Morning Light bosses, confronting Imoogi requires players to dodge Imoogi’s attacks while staying focused on the altar in the middle of the battlefield. In addition to this update, players can expect a Black Shrine (Boss Blitz) update that provides world improvements to all adventurers when an adventurer defeats bosses at the most difficult level, Calamity 7.

The new season of 3v3 PvP Arena of Solare returns to Black Desert Online and takes place in Land of the Morning Light. The highly anticipated Maegu Awakening launches today, shortly after Awakening her sister Woosa. As the Awakened Maegu, players can wield her sister’s deadly fan and pierce enemies with long-range fiery attacks. You can watch her combat video here.

Mythical Doom is a reinvention that takes the “Hell Horse” concept of its predecessor “Doom” to a whole new level with dazzling moons of blue flame and dual horns. Players quickly travel through the world of Black Desert with the following abilities:

  • Shadow of Hellfire: Players can summon two additional Doom riders, each accommodating up to two riders, allowing a total of six adventurers to use them. By using this skill during the cooldown period, up to 10 nearby guild or party members gain the “Hellblaze” buff, which increases movement speed by 5% for 60 seconds.
  • Infernal Sprint: Mythical Doom propels itself at breakneck speed, giving it the highest land speed of any riding animal in Black Desert Online.
  • Infernal Legion: Mythical Doom ignites enemies with its fiery blue flames.

Finally, all adventurers can now own a dream horse, as the secret behind the event item “Vipiko’s rocking horse” given to all adventurers was revealed during the ball. Starting today, adventurers can acquire and use “Vipiko’s Calling Horn” to magically transform the rocking horse into one of the three dream horses. Those who have not yet claimed the item can find it on the Challenge tab until July 26.

Released in July, Dehkia’s Lantern is a brand new item in the Black Desert world that awakens nearby monsters in certain zones, such as Ash Forest and Olun’s Valley. Once awakened, monsters will be more powerful and dangerous with new attack patterns and better loot rewards such as Deboreka’s Earrings. Finally, monsters in the effect range of Dehkia’s Lantern will respawn immediately after defeat, giving players a whole new way to approach existing monster zones.

Black Desert Online’s annual summer event is getting a Korean folklore-inspired makeover for its return on July 26. This year, adventurers are invited to explore an underwater palace filled with fun mini-games. Players take on the role of either the whimsical rabbit or the turtle. Rabbits are tasked with escaping from the palace, and turtles must hunt the rabbits for their liver. Winning adventurers can look forward to exciting rewards.
