Beat world champion Max Verstappen in new Pro Challenge update for EA SPORTS F1 23 – That’s Gaming

Today Electronic Arts announced new game updates and challenges en route to EA SPORTS™ F1 23®‘s F1® World: the in-game hub that gives players more ways to get totally immersed in the sport they love. This is where new content updates are structurally pushed. In late August, a new Pro Challenge will be introduced where fans can race one-on-one against EA SPORTS ambassador Max Verstappen in a ghost lap time trial and make an ultimate attempt to beat him. The developer has more in store, as starting today, the very first F1® Replay available, the “Leagues” update for EA Racenet goes live and the first-ever Driver Ratings update is rolled out. These ratings are based on real-life driver performance and once again bring the game and the sport closer together.

“We want to continuously challenge our fans by adding new challenges to the game. Now they also have the opportunity to put their skills to the test against real-world F1® drivers. We kick off the Pro Challenge series with the current leader in the competition: Max Verstappen.” says Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. “Our new Pro Challenge will be a key element in F1® World, where players race for glory and are rewarded with exclusive items.”

Relive races from the 2023 season with F1® Replay
The very first F1® Replay is now live in-game: a new kind of event that lets players relive races from the 2023 season. They can step into the shoes of all 20 drivers and Grands Prix that have already taken place and relive them, starting with the 2023 FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX. Every week a new race from the 2023 calendar will be added.

Today, the companion feature “Leagues” is also being updated. Here, players can set up, schedule, participate and manage custom multiplayer championships – directly through the free Racenet app (available via web or mobile for iOS and Android). The “On-Demand” feature gives players the flexibility to race without having to schedule a specific date or time. AI is being reintroduced to the grid to enable personalized AI settings and difficulty levels. In the near future, telemetry data through the app will be further enhanced, allowing racers to compare their time trial lap times with those of their friends, rivals and professional drivers.

A complete package for Formula 1 fans
F1® World is just one of the exciting game modes in F1® 23. Players can race at any track from the 2023 season with all the teams and drivers that are part of it. The narrative game mode “Braking Point 2” offers a behind-the-scenes look at Formula 1, and players can make a name for themselves in several single-player and multiplayer modes, including the popular My Team. To maintain the authenticity of the game and reflect the progress made in competition, Driver Ratings are updated several times in collaboration with different F1 experts: Anthony Davidson and Alex Jacques. From Monaco to Silverstone, they help create a realistic representation of the drivers’ performance throughout the season. The full list of new in-game Driver Ratings and more information on this topic can be found here.
