Aleix Espargaró: “Aprilia’s engine is fast, we’ll see if it’s enough to follow Ducati”

The MotoGP rider Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia) announced this Thursday improvements for the Italian Grand Prix to be held this weekend, although we will have to wait to find out if it is “enough to follow the Ducati”, compared to those that have than “improve a little”.

“The Aprilia engine is fast, it’s good, we’ll see if it’s enough to follow the Ducati or even overtake them. We’re ahead compared to the Yamaha and we have to improve a bit compared to the Ducati. We’ll see if we’re on par from the rest of the best engines in the world. We are not far away, but top speed is not the most important thing in the world. We have good acceleration, Mugello is the most difficult circuit in the world, not everything is reduced to top speed”, Espargaró analyzed in press conference on the improvements that Aprilia will install for this race.

Thus, the Spanish driver reported that they bring “a couple of new things” for the Italian Grand Prix. “A new engine and quite a few aerodynamic elements, and it looks promising, I hope it will give us a few tenths to fight for the top positions,” he wished.
