Today Electronic Arts Inc. released the second Deep Dive video for EA SPORTS F1 23, the official video game of the FIA Formula One World Championship. The game will be released on June 16 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam. This new Deep Dive video, hosted by Sky Sports F1 presenter Natalie Pinkham, focuses on improvements in various game modes. The spotlight is on F1 World, Braking Point 2, improved multiplayer and the return of Career and My Team.
Braking Point 2: new faces, new rivals
The narrative game mode Braking Point was introduced in F1 2021 and will be in F1 23 succeeded by Braking Point 2. In this new chapter, the player follows the careers of Aiden Jackson and protagonist Devon Butler. Both drivers are competing for Konnersport Racing Team, an organization trying to make a fist against the real-life teams and drivers who call the shots in Formula 1. This brings new rivalries, drama and racing challenges and also introduces players to new characters in Braking Point 2, including the brand new Formula 2 champion, Callie Mayer. Callie is also Devon Butler’s sister and she is eager to make it to the highest stage: Formula 1. To bring her story to life, the team of writers collaborated with three-time W Series world champion and Williams Racing development driver Jamie Chadwick, who provided valuable insights from a driver’s perspective.
F1 World: a new hub as starting point for different game modes
Another important feature in F1 23 is F1 World: a brand-new, central hub that serves as a starting point for various game modes. It includes solo and multiplayer experiences, a shared progression system, daily, weekly and seasonal content, a revamped License Level system and many different ways to play the game. F1 World introduces new players to the complex world of Formula 1 and helps prepare them for the world championship. F1 World is the place for returning players to enter their favorite game sections, such as Time Trial, Grand Prix and Multiplayer. As players progress through F1 World by completing challenges and competing in events, their Tech Level increases and they unlock upgrades that they can use to boost their car. This not only improves the car’s performance, but also opens new doors to events that offer the player more of a challenge. These challenges and events adjust throughout the season based on the racing calendar in real life.
