Amidst all the turmoil Twitter is going through, from mass firings to rehires to mass resignations, Elon Musk shows no signs of slowing down.
Today, he launched a poll on Twitter asking users whether or not former U.S. President Donald Trump’s account should be reinstated.

Last year, Twitter announced it was permanently suspending Trump’s account “because of the danger of further encouraging violence” after his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol as he proceeded to recognize Democrat Joe Biden’s presidential victory.
Elon Musk fired Vijaya Gadde, one of Twitter’s top legal and policy officials who made the decision to permanently ban Trump from Twitter, shortly after taking over the company.
The poll has already received more than 11 million votes, with about 52.9 percent of respondents voting yes.

In another tweet in the same thread, Musk used the Latin phrase “Vox Populi, Vox Dei“which loosely translates to “The voice of the people is the voice of God.“
Trump has announced that he will run for president of the United States in 2024. If he is reinstated on Twitter, it will play a major role in his candidacy.
