There are already a few volunteers to take over from Elon Musk as Twitter CEO if the billionaire decides to step away from the top job. Twitter’s new owner has received mixed reactions since he took the helm of the social networking services company about two months ago.

Many criticize his actions since the takeover, starting with the redesign of the company’s structure, the implementation of new policies, the firing of employees, the banning of several accounts, etc. He released a survey on Twitter, asking him if he should step down as the company’s CEO. More than 17.5 million people participated in the poll, with 57.5 percent voting “yes” and 42.5% voting “no” to Musk’s questions.

Potential candidates to succeed Musk as Twitter CEO
Before the poll closed, Musk wrote that no one wanted his job. He added that “there is no successor“. However, some people have expressed their willingness to lead the social networking platform. These include MIT artificial intelligence researcher Lex Fridman, rapper Snoop Dogg and former T-Mobile CEO John Legere. MySpace co-founder Tom Anderson also commented on the poll about Musk’s departure as Twitter CEO, saying it “Depends on who you choose to run it“, adding a pensive face emoji. The MIT researcher suggested to Musk, saying:
“Let me run Twitter for a while. No pay. I’m just doing this. Focus on engineering and increasing the amount of love in the world. I’m just offering my help in the unlikely event that it’s useful.”

When Musk asked him if he still wanted the job, given that it could cost him his life savings and the company could go bankrupt, he replied, “Yes. We’re going to turn it around.“
Also, some of the people hired have been working with Musk since the takeover. If the current chief steps down, they are potential candidates for a new Twitter CEO. The short list includes Sriram Krishnan, David Sacks and investor Jason Calacanis. Calacanis was one of the topics discussed in Musk’s text diary, and he has shown interest in becoming CEO of Twitter. David Sacks is also a friend of Musk’s and the former COO of PayPal. He has also offered to help the company under the new leadership.
