What original movies and series are launching on Disney+ in September 2022

September is a month of celebration for the Disney+ streaming service, as it includes the second Disney+ Day. It will feature several premieres on several of the service’s streaming channels. However, the entire month of September will be peppered with exclusive movie and series releases that can’t be watched on other competing services.

The second Disney+ Day is coming soon

In terms of new series debuting on Disney+ in September we have The Old Man (September 28) starring Jeff Bridges, the second season of the reality show The Kardashians (September 22) following the lives of the famous family, the new series Andor set in the Star Wars universe (September 21) telling the story of the beginning of the rebellion against the Empire, and Welcome to Wrexham starring Ryan Reynolds (September 21).

On September 8, Disney+ Day will bring several movies and series premiering on Disney+. The newest film in the Marvel universe, Thor: Love and Thunder, will debut on this date, along with the new film Pinocchio, a live action remake of the classic Disney cartoon. It will star Tom Hanks as Geppetto.

Also launching on September 8 is the Mike mini-series, which tells the story of the career and life of boxing champion Mike Tyson, the Obi-Wan Kenobi documentary series: The Return of a Jedi, which follows the creation of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Cars on the Road, a new series based on the Pixar Cars license, as well as the Wedding Season movie.

Growing Up, a new short featuring The Simpsons, Epic Adventures With Bertie Gregory (National Geographic), Hocus Pocus 2 and the Argentinian series Tierra Incognita (Unknown Earth) will also be added to the Disney+ service portfolio on September 8.
