The number of missing has been announced by the Ombudsman, Ludmila Denisova, in comments collected by Ukrinform. “We have counted more than 15,000 cases with identified names and the last place they were seen,” she said.

Likewise, the Minister of Health, Viktor Liashko, has denounced that the Russian attacks have destroyed 307 medical centers and destroyed 21 hospitals since the beginning of the invasion, on February 24. “These hospitals cannot be rebuilt and new ones will have to be built in their place,” he said in comments also picked up by Ukrinform.

The minister has stressed the need to deploy more field hospitals in the western regions, since in the eastern combat zone wounded people can only receive first aid before being evacuated, so many do not survive the transfer.

In its latest balance published this Saturday, the United Nations has confirmed 4,149 civilian casualties in the country — 1,766 dead and 2,383 wounded — since the beginning of the invasion.
