Ukraine claims to have killed 300 Russian servicemen and seized “more than 20 settlements” over last day

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have claimed on Monday to have killed 300 Russian servicemen within the framework of the fighting recorded over the past day, a period in which the Ukrainian forces “have managed to drive the enemy out of more than 20 settlements”.

The Ukrainian Army General Staff has indicated in a message posted on its account on the social network Facebook that “about 52,950” Russian servicemen have been killed since the beginning of the war and said that 2,168 battle tanks, 1,269 artillery systems, 162 anti-aircraft defense systems and 311 self-propelled and armored multiple rocket launchers have also been destroyed.

Thus, he has stressed that 243 aircraft, 213 helicopters, 903 drones, 15 ships, 3,463 vehicles and fuel tanks and 117 pieces of special equipment have also been destroyed, while 216 cruise missiles have been shot down since the beginning of hostilities, which broke out on February 24 on the orders of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The Russian enemy suffered the heaviest losses over the past day in the direction of Krivói Rog and Donetsk,” he has noted. “Beat the occupier. Let’s win together. Our strength is in the truth,” the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army has stressed.

He also noted that “over the past day, the Defense Forces have managed to drive the enemy out of more than 20 settlements, taking them under full control.” “There are stabilization measures underway,” he detailed, while outlining that the Ukrainian Air Force has during the last 24 hours shelled eight positions of the Russian troops.

“The liberation of settlements from the hands of Russian invaders in the Kharkov and Donetsk regions continues. As previously reported, during their withdrawal Russian troops quickly abandon their positions and flee to temporarily occupied territory or to Russia,” he explained, before stressing that “this trend persists.”

“The enemy concentrates its efforts on establishing control over the territory of the Donetsk region, holding the temporarily captured territories and disrupting the offensive of our troops in certain directions. The enemy continues to attack our positions, carry out air reconnaissance and try to take measures to restore the lost positions,” he remonstrated.
