Trump hints at decision to run in 2024 presidential election

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted Thursday that he would have decided to run again for president in 2024 and that he would only be thinking about the best time to launch his campaign.

This is what Trump has expressed in an interview with ‘New York Magazine’, in which he has detailed that he has already made “that decision”, and that the only question to be answered will be when he will announce it.

“I would say my big decision will be whether I go before or after (…) Do I go before or after? That will be my big decision,” said the former president referring to the mid-term elections in November 2022 in statements reported by the aforementioned media.

Likewise, Trump has assured that he is confident that, if he decides to run as a candidate for the 2024 elections, he will win them.

The statements of the former U.S. president confirm what members of Trump’s inner circle had previously confessed privately to several media, stating that he would have already decided to run again as a presidential candidate, as reported by CNN.

The current Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, indicated at the end of June that Joe Biden “intends to run” for the next elections in the country.

“The president intends to run and if he does, I will be his running mate. We would run together,” Harris said June 29 as she prepared to leave for California aboard ‘Air Force Two.’

Biden, for his part, assured in March that he would feel “very fortunate” to face the former White House tenant, Donald Trump, in the next election, after the November 2020 presidential election, which has prompted the opening of a committee in the House of Representatives to ascertain his degree of guilt in the assault on the Capitol and theories of electoral fraud.

Biden assured in March that he would feel “very fortunate” to face former White House tenant Donald Trump in the next election after the November 2020 presidential election, which has prompted the opening of a committee in the House of Representatives to ascertain his degree of culpability in the assault on Capitol Hill and theories of voter fraud.

In the hypothetical case that Biden and Trump were to run in the 2024 elections, the former president would clearly prevail in those to the current president by 44 percent against 39 percent of votes, according to a survey published by Emerson College University and collected by the newspaper ‘The Hill’.
