After a period of almost two years, in which the world has almost stopped, the concerts can be the breath of fresh air that we all need so much. Fortunately, 2022 is proving to be, at the moment, a slightly more permissive year, in terms of the events in which we can participate, in the context of the restrictions that are becoming more and more gentle.
Therefore, following the rules and recommendations of the accredited authorities, 2022 will be the year in which the concerts will finally return to our lives. No matter what kind of music you listen to, such information can’t help but delight you.
In this sense, I decided to make a top of the most awaited concerts in Romania, in 2022. Of course, I’m talking about a subjective top, niche based on my musical tastes. However, I am absolutely convinced that many PlayTech.ro readers will agree with the ones I have listed, in the following.
That being said, let’s see what those concerts, from 2022, are meant to bring back normalcy among us and joy in the soul.
10. Pet Shop Boys Concert, 80’s classics
Pet Shop Boys have sold over 50 million records worldwide over time. In 1986, the band set a true record, holding 39 tracks in the Top 30 and 22 tracks in the Top 10 in the UK. Moreover, songs like “West End Girls,” “It’s a Sin,” “Always on My Mind,” and “Heart” quickly found their place in the hearts of fans.
The British will perform in our country, on July 4, 2022, at the Roman Arenas.
9. Nightwish Concert (with Floor)
Rock music lovers are expected, on August 1, 2022, to take part in one of this summer’s concerts: the legendary band Nighwish returns to Romania.
The concert will take place on the Romexpo stage and will be part of a large tour of the band, called “HUMAN. : II: NATURE. ”. This name is synonymous with the name of the latest album Nightwish, released in April 2021. The band’s last concert in Romania took place in 2019, before the pandemic. The vocal part of Nightwish has been provided, over time, by Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon, currently the band has as a soloist the nice Floor Jensen.
8. Moonspell returns to Romania in doubles
Moonspell will perform in Romania in 2022. And if until now we were used to a single Moonspell pla concert for twelve months, this year we will be able to see two: in Cluj-Napoca and in Bucharest. Specifically, the first concert will take place in Cluj-Napoca, in the FORM SPACE pub, on May 10, 2022, and on May 12, Moonspell will give a concert in Bucharest, in the open air, at the Roman Arenas.
7. Sting extraordinary concert, in Romania
Sting will give an extraordinary concert in our country, on March 15, on BT Arena, in Cluj-Napoca, and is part of the artist’s tour, “My Songs”. 6. Kiss veterans come to sing to us
The veteran rockers from Kiss will perform, in their turn, in Romania, within the “The Farewell Tour” that will put our country on the map of international music. The concert will take place at Romexpo, on July 16, 2022, and promises to be one you will remember for a lifetime.
5. Iron Maiden “will break the scene in two”
The Iron Maiden concert will take place on May 26, 2022, at Romexpo, in the Capital, and will be an outdoor one. The opening of the show will feature the German band from Hamburg, Lord of the Lost, extremely well known to those who like the gothic metal style. Moreover, the day before, Lord of the Lost will hold another concert, this time on its own, in Cluj-Napoca.
4. The “Immortals” Evanescence
The Evanescence concert will take place on June 7, 2022, at the Roman Arenas, one of the most suitable locations for such events with the public, by the way. Evanescence is one of the most popular rock bands in the United States, not a fan of the genre that does not appreciate the sensational voice of soloist Amy Lee. The band has sold tens of millions of copies of its albums worldwide, receiving numerous nominations and international awards, including two Grammys in 2004 for “Bring Me To Life” in the “Best New Artist” category. and “Best Hard Rock Performance”).

The band’s latest album, “Looking for Stars”, was released in 2018, and in 2020, Hooverphonic should have represented Belgium at Eurovision. Unfortunately, the 2020 edition of the famous music contest was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the band did not have the opportunity to show what it can do.
The vocal part is currently provided by Geike Arnaert, the lead singer who left the band in 2008 but later returned.
2. Placebo returns to our country for a new concert
Placebo has stood out over time as one of the most original rock bands of all time, serving as an inspiration for artists like My Chemical Romance (this being just the best known example). Moreover, the rockers have collaborated, over time, with big names like David Bowie, Nirvana, Michael Stipe, Justin Warfierd, Depeche Mode and Iggy Pop. The concert in our country, from 2022, will take place at Romexpo, on July 13, 2022.
1. Tarja Turunen Concert, in Bucharest and in Cluj-Napoca
Since this is one of the concerts I took my ticket to, I chose to place it on the 1st place. The unique thing is that Tarja Turunen, the former soloist of the band Nightwish, will give not one, but two concerts. The first will be in the Capital, at the Roman Arenas, on October 18, 2022, and the next day, the Finnish artist will perform in Cluj-Napoca, at FORM Space. During his tour. Tarja Turunen will promote her latest studio album, “In the Raw”, released in August 2019, at the beginning of the tour which had to be interrupted due to restrictions.
