three tournaments, dates and locations

Early 2023, Riot Games inaugurated a new era of competitive VALORANT. Three international leagues were formed, with 30 partner teams made up of the world’s best players. These leagues will be expanded in 2024 with the promotion of three teams from the VCT Ascension.

Through a multitude of Challenger leagues, teams will fight for their place in ‘Ascension’. In addition Riot Games has already announced the dates, locations and formats of the three VCT Ascension tournaments. These will start immediately after the Tokyo Masters.

Masters Tokyo will take place from June 11 to June 25. That tournament will host many teams that also qualified for the Champions stage at the end of the year. While battling in the main circuit, the contenders will prepare for the VCT Ascension, which will take place in LAN format and in front of a live audience. The three tournaments in the Pacific, EMEA and Americas will be held between late June and mid-July.

Pacific

These are the dates and locations of the VCT Ascension Pacific:

• Group Stage: June 28 – July 4.
• Playoffs: July 7-9.
• Location: Bangkok, Thailand.

The Pacific region has 10 Challenger leagues. Each of them will qualify a single team for the Ascension phase. They will compete in two groups with a single elimination format. Each match will be best-of-three and the top three teams from each group will advance to the knockout phase. The top teams in each group will receive a direct pass to the semifinals. The rest will have to work their way through from the quarterfinal stage. The Grand Final of the tournament will be a best-of-five series.

EMEA

These are the dates and location of the VCT Ascension EMEA:

• Group stage: June 30 – July 4.
• Playoffs: July 13-16.
• Place: Berlin, Germany.

The EMEA standings work a little differently than the Pacific standings. There are still 10 teams in the Ascension tournament, but only nine will enter by winning their respective Challenger league. The last team will qualify through a playoff tournament.

The tournament will kick off with an online group stage with a single round robin playoff format. Only two teams from the groups that are made will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will be played in a single elimination bracket and a best-of-five final at the VCT EMEA Coliseum in Berlin.

America

Dates and location for VCT Ascension America:

• Dates: June 30 – July 9.
• Location: São Paulo, Brazil.

Ascension America has only six teams. Two are from Brazilian Challengers, two from North America, one from LATAM South and one from LATAM North. This tournament will take place in two different venues, starting at the VALORANT Brazil Studio.

The second venue has not yet been announced, but will take place in front of a live audience, just like the other tournaments. The qualifier will be held in two groups of three teams, with a single round robin format, and each team will qualify in a double-elimination playoff until reaching the final.
