The JEP accuses the Duque government of manipulating the stories of victims of the armed conflict in Colombia.

The Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) resulting from Colombia’s peace accords has singled out the ministers of Justice, Wilson Ruiz; Defense, Diego Molano; Culture, Angélica Mayolo and Education, María Victoria Angulo, for manipulating accounts of victims of the armed conflict.

The JEP’s ruling gives the ministers three days to explain the concrete actions implemented “to guarantee the rights of the victims, especially the victims participating in the construction of the Voices to Transform Colombia Collection” of the National Center for Historical Memory (CNMH).

The Voices to Transform Colombia Collection would have suffered an alteration of the victims’ accounts under the direction of Darío Acevedo as head of the CNMH.

The four ministers should also explain if they had any participation in the script documents of the Museum of Memory and the various plans prior to the structuring of the content, as well as if they had notice in the modification.
