More than a hundred thousand spectators are expected on Friday, November 11, in Craiova, at the opening of the most beautiful Christmas fair in the country.
Inna, Carla’s Dreams, Irina Rimes, Nicole Cherry, The Motans and many other artists will put on an incendiary show in Craiova when the Romanian music awards are scheduled.
The Artist Awards take place on A.I. Cuza Street, at the University, starting at 5pm.
Named by European Best Destinations as one of the top six most beautiful events of its kind in Europe, the Craiova Christmas Fair takes place this year on an area of over one square kilometre.
One-of-a-kind fairy-tale cottages painted by talented artists and located in five squares, a tree over 20 metres high, over a million light bulbs and figurines and a 700 square metre ice rink are ready to welcome their guests.
“Considering that in 2021 we ranked 6th in Europe for the most beautiful Christmas fair and the festive lighting was one of the highlights for tourists from all over the world who voted for us, this year we have prepared many surprises in terms of ornaments and festive lighting. There will be more than one million lights shining in the central areas of Craiova, but also in the biggest district of the city, for which we will save money, as they are all LEDs.”said Lia Olguța Vasilescu, Mayor of Craiova.
The fairytale atmosphere can already be felt in the Old Centre and Mihai Viteazul Square, where the ice rink is being set up and bright figures in the shape of polar bears, snowflakes and penguins have appeared, as well as some of the little houses.
The Craiova Christmas Fair takes place in five squares and will remain open until 8 January 2023.
