Tesla recognizes seat belt issues. Will fix it with a software update

Tesla cars are among the most technologically advanced, but advanced technology seems to be the reason why they keep getting all kinds of problems. Most recently, the company announced that it has discovered a problem affecting almost one million vehicles, related to the seat belt system, whose warning sound can be deactivated. Tesla says it will provide a software update to fix the problem.

Tesla can solve such problems with a simple software update

817,143 Tesla Model 3 and Y cars from the 2021 generation, as well as newer versions of the Model S and X are affected by a new software problem. It appears that the seat belt warning sound can be canceled and does not return if the driver’s door is opened and closed before the seat belt is connected. Opening the door permanently cancels the sound until the next time the car is started.

This problem is one that can endanger the passengers in the car, and will be solved quickly, say Tesla representatives. In fact, the software update will be offered online, directly on board the cars, sometime in February, so it won’t take long until this problem is solved. The problem was discovered on January 6, by customers in South Korea, and on January 25, Tesla decided that it was a serious enough problem to notify customers, following its own investigation.

This is just another software issue after a long series of problems encountered by customers over the years. In fact, sometimes software updates that fix such leaks are the order of the day for Tesla. Recently, the company was forced by the US authorities to update the Full Self-Driving software to stop before intersections that require stopping because it endangered traffic safety.
