The multinational e-sports organization, Team Liquidhas launched a channel dedicated to e-sports, which is will be broadcast through various streaming platforms. The organization claims that the channel is the only one of its kind in the world and showcases a range of content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The channel will be available on various streaming platforms, such as Sling, Plex and Fubo. The channel will broadcast different programs produced by the organization, including the series “A Legacy Unrivaled.” (A Legacy Unrivaled), which covers how the organization’s various esports teams compete in international competitions. In addition to the series, the channel’s description of Plex reveals that the channel will show live matches when the organization is competing.
Team Liquid is the first esports organization to launch its own dedicated TV channel. The company is capitalizing on the recent emergence of e-sports on TV and streaming platforms, as 2021 saw Paramount+ premiere “Players,” a series about fictional League of Legends team Fugitive Gaming.
While team-driven channels are not commonplace, esports companies have begun to make inroads into traditional media. Just this month, the Danish arm of television service Pluto TV partnered with Retake Media to launch a dedicated eSports channel that will broadcast at least 120 live days a year. The channel will start with Danish-language coverage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major from November 30.
For Team Liquid, the creation of a TV channel is the latest in a series of initiatives to expand its reach. In November, it launched the fan platform MyBluewhere they can redeem real and digital rewards by interacting with the organization.
