The hardware manufacturer Garmin is best known for its sports and outdoor smartwatches. Similar to Apple, the Swiss company from Schaffhausen often provides its watches with long-term updates.

The 13.12 beta update for the Venu 2 series smartwatches, i.e. for the Venu 2, Venu 2 Plus and the Venu 2S, was recently released. With this software release, users can expect a whole series of error corrections and functional enhancements.

Installing the update is that easy

Garmin provides information on installing the update in its own forum:

This beta version is currently in the pre-rollout phase. This is a new deployment method that allows beta versions to be installed OTA (Over the Air via WiFi). The traditional rollout follows the pre-rollout phase. To download this update on the Venu 2 series devices, go to: Main menu > Settings > System > Software update.

What’s new in beta update 13.12?

New features include enhancements and bug fixes for the Connect-IQ-Store, which, according to Garmin, can be used to personalize the smartwatch with free apps, widgets, display designs, data fields or music streaming services. Also, there are improvements for that ANT+-Systemwhich can be used to connect chest straps or pedometers to the smartwatch.
