The wine and spirits giant today operates several servicesincluding NFTof the platform crypto Taurus. Pernod Ricard led various Web3 experiments since 2021.
The tricolor group Pernod Ricard has established a partnership with the swiss Taurus to leverage its suite of tokenization and guard to “feed its Web3 initiatives”.
According to a release, the company has already begun using Taurus allowing the issue, management and storage of non-fungible tokens.
Blockchain technologies are shaking up existing codes for digital ownership and value transfer. We chose to work with Taurus to accelerate our Web3 activities by benefiting from an infrastructure with bank-grade security and technological flexibility,” commented Olivier Marescq, Global Head of Digital Partnerships at Pernod Ricard.
Last year, Pernod Ricard made its debut in the metaverse with an experiment on Decentraland featuring its brand of vodka Absolut. For the 90 years of Ricardthe firm launched a “first” collection of tokens on Polygon. Earlier in 2021, it was already sailing in the Web3 by offering NFTs that can be exchanged for physical products.
Backed by Credit Suisse, digital asset specialist Taurus raised $65 million earlier this year. Its digital asset management platform is compatible with several protocols including Ethereum, Polygon, Cosmos and Tezos.
This alliance once again highlights the interest of major brands in blockchain technology and NFTespecially in marketing.
