Cowboy is a company that makes e-bikes. In the past we have already tested the Cowboy 4 and compared it with another e-bike.

Now the manufacturer is back and shaking up the market with its on-demand service. This means: You can order mechanics to your home who will then take care of assembly, maintenance or similar services.

A bicycle service for your home

In addition to Cowboy Care, a monthly maintenance and repair subscription, there is now a so-called On-Demand-Service for home. In theory, it’s a good, stress-free way to get your e-bike back in shape without going to a bike dealer.

To this end, Cowboy has set up a network of mobile mechanics that will provide drivers across Europe with on-site service.

You have to book the corresponding service in the Cowboy app. Examples for this are:

  • Maintenance packages
  • Tire repair
  • Bike setup (structure, setup, etc.)
  • Luggage rack assembly
  • Child seat assembly

This is what Cowboy writes in a press release. In order to be able to serve customers who, according to Cowboys, have little time or know-how, there was already a pilot project for the on-demand service last winter. According to Cowboys, the piloting was successful.

Now they want to expand their service nationwide in Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as in other European capital regions such as. B. France, UK and Austria offer.

Appointment booking via app: In the following image you can see how the on-demand service can then be booked in the app. You select your desired service and then a corresponding mechanic will be assigned to you. As soon as the booking is confirmed, you will receive your at-home appointment:

Ambitious future plans: Cowboy already works with 175 independent bike dealers. Their plan is to expand this number to 1000 partners by the end of 2025. So we can stay excited to see where the journey goes.

But it’s not just the manufacturer Cowboy that wants to really get started in the near future – the new owners of VanMoof also have big plans and want to bring e-bikes back onto the market. There will even soon be an e-scooter in their catalog.

In this article we write about the company VanMoof 2.0, which is currently fighting its way back after bankruptcy and a takeover by McLaren Applied.

What do you think about Cowboy’s new service? Do you own an e-bike from this manufacturer and are you looking forward to a stress-free home service? Or is that too expensive for you and would you rather wait until you have time to make an appointment at the nearest bike dealer? Feel free to write us your thoughts about this on-demand service in the comments and exchange ideas.
