Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki explained why he buys bitcoin in a few tweets on Friday. Rich Dad Poor Dad is a book published in 1997 and co-authored by Kiyosaki and Sharon Lechter. It was on the New York Times bestseller list for more than six years. More than 32 million copies of the book have been sold in more than 51 languages and in over 109 countries.

In a tweet, the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad explained that he buys bitcoins because pension funds buy the crypto-currency. He referred to an article published by Forbes, titled “Your State Pension Is Now Gambling On Cryptocurrency“, which features a survey showing that 94 percent of U.S. state and local government pensions are investing in cryptocurrencies. Tweeting the article to his 1.2 million followers, Kiyosaki wrote:

The survey is part of the latest investor confidence study released in April by the CFA Institute, the global association for investment professionals. The study found that institutional investors have become greater users of crypto-currencies, with two-thirds reporting that they are currently invested in the products. In addition, government-sponsored pension plans are the most likely to be invested in crypto assets.
