Porsche and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth made short film together – That’s Gaming

SQUARE ENIX® and sports car manufacturer Porsche AG announce that they have teamed up to create a short film in honor of people driven by dreams. To celebrate the release of the highly acclaimed FINAL FANTASY™ VII REBIRTH fans can thank the creators of the original FINAL FANTASY VII and the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project follow in a visionary short film.

In the film, three FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH-developers, creative director Tetsuya Nomura, producer Yoshinori Kitase and director Naoki Hamaguchi took to the streets of Tokyo in two iconic Porsche 911 models – a 1997 classic and the most recent 2024 model – to reflect on the influence of FINAL FANTASY VII (published in 1997)and what it was like to realize the groundbreaking RPG from a dream, with no existing path to follow.

To celebrate the collaboration, Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles released a specially themed Porsche 911 with a unique FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH-look adds to their fleet of vehicles. Voice actors from the game, Briana White (Aerith), Caleb Pierce (Zack), Suzie Yeung (Yuffie) and Max Mittlemen (Red XIII), were able to try out the custom 911 on the test track for an exciting, hands-on driving experience

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH was voted “most anticipated game of 2024” at the Game Awards, delivering the new story in the acclaimed remake project of FINAL FANTASY VII, which the legendary FINAL FANTASY VII revived in three self-contained volumes. FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH follows the first part of the project, FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, which appeared in 2020 and was warmly received by players and press from around the world. After garnering more than 20 perfect scores from media and being voted PlayStation^® “Editor’s Choice,” became FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE the best-selling digital release on a PlayStation^®-platform in the history of SQUARE ENIX. The game has now shipped and sold digitally more than 7 million times.

A free, two-part demo offers players access to the game’s opening and a special preview of the massive in-game world, with an area that becomes accessible in-game after a few hours. Players can transfer the progress they made in the first part of the demo to the full game. That way, they can continue their adventure and claim unique, enhancing bonuses.
