Helius raises $9.5M to enhance DApps on Solana

Heliusa start-up company that designs a platform for creating decentralized applications on Solana more performancehas just completed a series A from 9.5 million dollars.

Founded in 2022 in Toronto, Helius offers a complete development suite for Solana including RPC nodes, APIs, webhooks and other tools. The start-up’s ambition is to help developers design decentralized applications that are “cheaper and faster”.

On Thursday, Helius revealed that it had closed a $9.5 million funding round led by Foundation Capital. The fundraising also includes the participation of well-known investors from the crypto space with Reciprocal Ventures, 6th Man Ventures and Chapter One. Solana founders, including Anatoly Yakovenko, also contributed to the round.

We’re simplifying and enhancing the experience of developers of the most powerful blockchain, Solana, by giving them the platform they need to create the best DApps possible,” trumpeted Helius boss Mert Mumtaz.

Solana already offers high performance in terms of transaction processing compared in particular to its main rival Ethereum. “While Solana may be the most scalable, secure and composable Layer 1 blockchain, it has also created friction for some developers,” Helius explains.

The startup will leverage the fresh capital to swell its headcount and improve its technology stack, according to the announcement. Today, it helps popular projects such as Helium, which last year migrated to Solana, and Jupiter, which recently organized a major airdrop.
