MADRID, Feb. 21 (Royals Blue) –
The Spanish rider Pedro Acosta (Kalex) gave a warning of his potential in his jump this season to the Moto2 category after setting the best time after the three days of testing held at the Algarve Circuit, in Portimao (Portugal).
The 17-year-old Murcian and current Moto3 world champion, was in the top positions of the time table in the three days and it was this Monday, at the end of the tests, when he set a time of 1:41.552, the fastest in the test and track record.
Behind him was his Red Bull KTM Ajo teammate and compatriot Raúl Fernández, with a time of 1:41.706, a record that he also achieved on the third day, while the provisional podium was completed by another national rider such as the Valencian Aron Canet ( Kalex) with 1:41.819. The three Spaniards leave Portimao as the only ones to have lowered the 1:42 barrier.
For his part, in Moto3, the best time of the three days went to the Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda), current runner-up in the world and one of the favorites for the title this season. The Leopard Racing driver posted a best lap of 1:46.990, 52 thousandths better than his compatriot Andrea Migno (Honda), while the best Spaniard in these tests was Izan Guevara (GasGas), with 1:47.324.
